Wow, this story put some wind in my adventure-seeking sails. Saddled on bicycles and surrounded by glorious rugged America, the H/h grudgingly join together on the 4200 mile, emotion-stirring Transam trail. As a Thoreau enthusiast, I appreciated the Walden parallels Knox drew on and felt a sense of connection to the journey and motivations of the MCs. Just like Knox's other novel, there are no real threats or villains in this story. The conflict is the drama of unresolved bygones and distrust between the H/h. But this didn't slow the cadence of the narration. I pedaled through the pages, clenching the handlebars from the Pacific to the Atlantic.
