Keep Me Safe - Skye Warren In an exploding and tragic beginning, the conflicting emotions and physical pain of the victim, Rachel, were portrayed in a real way. I was morbidly engrossed until the source of Rachel's trauma showed up on her doorstep. I didn't have issue with her forgiveness of him--I completely sympathized with the situation. What bewildered me was her dominating behavior with him after. I understand what she was attempting to do, but it wasn't believable. Something was missing. The psychology, the ball of ugly emotion behind it, perhaps. The I-want-to-be-a-Domme scene just felt too...gratuitous. Additionally, the reason behind Rachel's answer in the first scene--"Yes to both"--is never revealed (unless I missed it). Otherwise, this short story was deliciously twisted and powerfully executed. I liked it enough to read the next book, Trust In Me.
