The Fourth book in the Lords of Deliverance series is written with the same medieval-meets-modern tone as its predecessors, and when I'm reading these books, I swear I hear rock music in the background. Harrow-gating along, the story moves at demon speeds, with its heartfelt speeches, who-my-baby-daddy drama, anachronistic fashion, and sword play with Lucifer. It's a bit corny, a bit guilty pleasure, piled high with sex, romance, and mildly amusing attitude. The Dr Jekyll vs Mr Hyde angst gets a little old, but in the end, the apocalyptic theme and heaven's hidden agenda save the day.
